Last month I wrote about how to How To Set Up A Successful Pinterest Account, but all those points aside, there are tools and resources that can aid your success. But do you know what? It can also help save you time so you can focus on other elements of your business.

It doesn’t matter how long you’ve been running your business, I can guarantee that there is at least one app or website below that you either currently use, or will start to use after reading this blog post!

In no particular order:

• Canva
My first tip would be to invest in the paid version, if you don’t believe me, there is always the free month to prove me right.

Canva get your creative juices flowing, even for those of us that are stick figure professionals, and has a range of different tools you can use to make your images unique to your business. It is very easy to use with their pre-made templates or a blank canvas for each social media platform. It also gives you the ability to animate, add logos or your own images but also gives you the option to choose from a wide range of images and stock photos within the app itself.

• Trello
The queen (or king) of organisation. Whether you work within a team or on your own, Trello will be the app you didn’t know you needed in your life. It gives you the option of setting up a weekly schedule, set up a list for each task or create a conveyor belt for a task journey. What makes Trello that much more is the ability to add other users to the board, so you all have an overview of the week to come without having to actually communicate or set up a meeting about a meeting – we have all been there!

Like most apps, it allows you to add personality with colour labels which can be named to your liking, change the background, set deadlines and allocate a task to a specific individual.

If that’s not already sold it to you – it’s also free!

• Tailwind
Whilst this isn’t as important as it used to be for Pinterest, it is still a pretty darn good app! Tailwind is essentially a social media scheduler for Pinterest.

When it comes to sharing a whole bunch of fresh content of the same URL, it makes it faster and easier as you can determine how close or apart the Pins will be shared.

If you’re wanting to give it a try join here! *Disclaimer* It is an affiliate code where you get a Free Month of Tailwind Plus and I get a $15 credit too – yay!

• Planoly/Later/Metricool
If you don’t use Tailwind or even want to use it, there is another option to help you share your Pins. That is by using social media schedulers.

Not only does it allow you to schedule ahead of time, but it provides flexibility, saves time and gives you a strategic approach when Pinning your content.

• Tasty Pins
Tasty Pins is a WordPress Plugin that allows you to optimise your blog posts for Pinterest with a click of a button!

There are many functions including the ability to set Pinterest descriptions to include pre-determined keywords swell as a character count to know how many characters are being used out of those important 500!

The plugin also allows you to add a hover button on images to allow users to share your images, disable certain images from being able to be Pinned.

It also allows you to have a follow box ping up onto your website to gain Pinterest followers, hide images in your blog post but allow them to be pinnable by people using a Pinterest or Tailwind extension when Pinning.

• Unsplash
Unsplash is a royalty free stock image site that can come in handy if you’re struggling to use good quality, eye catching images. Just make sure that you avoid using images that are overly used as it will be overly used and as Pinterest loves fresh content, if you share just the image without any text overlay; it won’t be that fresh!

• ConvertKit/ MailerLite/ MailChimp
Whilst Pinterest can grow your email list, it also goes the other way around. You can use your email list to grow your Pinterest account!

You can gain followers by sharing your account handles in an email, but you can also create content only accessible if you’re signed up to your emails!

• Lastly, here are some resources straight from the horses mouth:

Whilst these tools and resources are recommended by myself, I would also love to know of any tools and resources that you use also! Leave a comment below!
